"Nature Exhibits the Glory of the Lord"

Nature Exhibits the Glory of the Lord

Bible Verse:
“For you will go out with joy, And be led forth with peace; The mountains and the hills will break forth into shouts of joy before you, And all the trees of the field will clap their hands. Is 55:12

My thought for today is life is not always fun and games, not always what we would choose it to be, but rather sometimes it is difficult to understand. God told man in the garden at the creation of time that we would toil all of the days of our lives that we would live by the sweat of our brows. Though this is true we can choose to live our lives in the joy and peace of God.

Isaiah wrote today’s scripture passage to a people enslaved in Babylon. They were taken from their homes and transplanted hundreds of miles from where they grew up. Their Temple the center of their existence had been completely destroyed and there seem to be no hope in sight. It is in this environment that Isaiah provides this glimmer of hope.

Joy and peace does not come as a result of living, but rather as an attitude given to us by God for faithfully serving and worshiping Him. When our sights are focused on God life is good! Even in the midst of greatest hardships there is hope and a peace that surpasses all understanding.

You know that if we turn our hearts toward God we might even hear the mountains and the wills shout for joy and the leaves of the fields clap their hands. There is joy in Christ.

We will not see our trials and tribulations evaporate their as many of the prosperity messages might portray, but what we will find in the arms of Christ tenderness and comfort beyond our wildest dreams. Take a moment and spend time with Christ. Invite Him into you circumstances. Ask Him for His peace and His joy. Allow Him to show you that there is a better place to ride out the storm than all alone sulking in your sorrows, frustrations and fears. It is in Him that we enjoy sustaining hope and the peace that surpasses all understanding.

Are you listing to the trees of the fields clap their hands because of the joy of the Lord? Do you well comforted or is helpless the meal that you are eating? Take heart, Christ has overcome the world and wants you to enjoy His peace. Call upon His name. Spend time with Him. You will not be disappointed.
