"vA Right Relationship is the Only Way"

A Right Relationship is the Only Way

Bible Verse:
The righteous man perishes, and no man takes it to heart; And devout men are taken away, while no one understands. For the righteous man is taken away from evil, He enters into peace; They rest in their beds, Each one who walked in his upright way. Is 57:1-2

My thought for today is that when we have a right relationship with God we have nothing to fear, for even death has no hold on us. If you continue to read in Isaiah 57 you see how the wicked fare in the eyes of God. Isaiah used two verses to describe the peace of God for those who choose a right relationship with their Creator and he used 10 verses to describe how those who do not know God react.

We are given a great gift. We can choose to know and draw closer to God or we can wallow in our self-centeredness and sin, living a part from God. When the judgment comes woe to the man who does not know God for eternity is a really long time to have seen God and His goodness and know that you will be separated from that goodness in darkness forever.

God loves us so much that He allowed you and I to choose selfishness over self-surrender. We can either choose to serve Him or ourselves. We can’t do both though many may be trying and giving God only their leftover time and not their first fruits.

Our relationship with God can not be relegated to a morning quiet time, a weekend activity. It can’t be boxed in, but rather must be a way of life. We are called to pray unceasingly, to offer up praise throughout our day, to call upon Jesus often as we invite His Spirit into our decision-making processes.

Life is too short to waste is on useless things. We have such a limited time on this earth and eternity hinged upon the decisions that we make today. We need to guard our heart and mind to careful focus them on what is truly important, our relationship with Jesus. When we do the cares of life are placed in their proper perspective.

Is your relationship with God a priority? Does Jesus get your first fruits over the leftover time? Are you living for eternity or the here and now? We can make a living and try and feel good about it or we can make a live in Christ and experience the joy and peace that He alone can provide. The choice is up to us so let’s choose wisely.
