"On Our Lips and In Our Heart"

On Our Lips and In Our Heart

Bible Verse:
“And a Redeemer will come to Zion, And to those who turn from transgression in Jacob,” declares the LORD. “And as for Me, this is My covenant with them,” says the LORD: “My Spirit which is upon you, and My words which I have put in your mouth, shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your offspring, nor from the mouth of your offspring’s offspring,” says the LORD, “from now and forever.” Is 59:20-21

My thought for today is a concern for whether of not the words of God are actually, always on our lips and in our heart or are they only paraded out on Sunday morning in time for worship. God is calling us to live daily for the kingdom of God.

We cannot be part time followers of Jesus Christ. Being a Christian involves faith filled living, a faith that is lived out moment by moment where the light of Christ is witnessed in what we think, say and do. Isaiah challenges the nation to consider how they had lived, were living and now in the light of God would chose to live.

Isaiah was sound a wake up call to the nation as Jesus in the gospel sounds a wake up call to you and I. We have a choice to make. Will we live for ourselves or for the honor and glory of God. This choice is not made at a weekly worship service through a daily devotional reading or some quiet time with God, but rather a purpose filed approach to be set a part as a person of God’s own choosing.

Brothers and Sisters in Christ we have been called to make a difference, to be different than the rest of the world. As you look back over the past several weeks and months, can you honestly say that there is enough evidence to convict you as a follower of Jesus Christ.

The Words of God must never part from our heart or mind. We need to pray without ceasing for the people around us. Many have no hope, many are in need and often it has nothing to do with their physical wellbeing. We need to be on alert allowing the light of Christ to encompass them by the way in which we live.

Are you passing or failing as a follower of Jesus Christ? Do you have the Word of God on your lips and in your heart? Don’t beat yourself up if the answer is no, but purpose in your heart moving forward that you will change. Jesus is counting on us to be slat and light in a world without taste and steeped in darkness. You and I can make a difference if we choose to do so. Let’s choose be the men and women that God has called us to be. On His Mark, get ready, get set and Go!
