"The Light of the World is Coming"

The Light of the World is Coming

Bible Verse:
“Instead of bronze I will bring gold, And instead of iron I will bring silver, And instead of wood, bronze, And instead of stones, iron. And I will make peace your administrators, And righteousness your overseers. “Violence will not be heard again in your land, Nor devastation or destruction within your borders; But you will call your walls salvation, and your gates praise. “No longer will you have the sun for light by day, Nor for brightness will the moon give you light; But you will have the LORD for an everlasting light, And your God for your glory. Is 60:17-19

My thought for today is the second coming of Christ is going to be spectacular because all of the problems with life today will be melted away and a new world will be but in its place. Isaiah in chapter 60 of his amazing book describes the new world order of Christ’s second coming. The things that were important will no longer be important.

A most amazing fact will be that the sun and moon will be no longer because the light of Christ will live with man. We will not need created light because we will have the Creator of light living with us.

As you read today’s scripture passage an in fact all of chapter 60 if you have the time there ought to be an excitement about the world to come. We all too often get hung up in the here and now, frustrated and worried about things that have no life in them. Where are attention should be is on the things of God which have an eternal life span.

Life is short. We can be anxious or at ease. We can fear for the future or place our hope in Jesus our Savior. Heaven is not that far away. It is where our sights should be set. We should be preparing for eternity with God and not fixated on the next moment on earth. When we have an eternal perspective the things of earth are placed in their proper perspective.

Do you know that you have the light of Christ in you? Is Christ’s life shining forth from you? The world is dark and afraid and you and I can bring light and hope to it as we wait with grateful anticipation the second coming of Christ. Let’s not waste a single moment because the lost need to see that there is a Way into the Light and that way is Jesus. Make every second count because who knows it may be our last.
