"Lifting High the Cross In Praise"
Lifting High the Cross In Praise
Bible Verse: For as the earth brings forth its sprouts, And as a garden causes the things sown in it to spring up, So the Lord GOD will cause righteousness and praise To spring up before all the nations. Is 61:11
My thought for today is if the people of God are not willing to praise His holy name then the rocks of the field will cry out from their silence to praise God. Day after day we come to a cross road in our lives where we must make a decision. Often times we enter the intersection with no destination in mind and therefore any direction makes sense. This is not true in our choice of praising God. We know what needs to be done, but too often we fail to do it.
It is so easy to thank God. It costs us a breath and yet in our busyness we are unwilling to exhale “Thank you Lord.” We have received grace upon grace. We ought to be the most humble most thankful people alive. Because we have been set free by the shed blood of Christ, but we allow the world to hem us in.
Throw off the fetters of life. Take hold of the hope that calls us heavenward and be grateful of all of the blessings of God. Our righteousness is a gift from God. It is something that we did not earn, nor do we deserve, but one which has been freely given to all who place their trust in Christ.
We should be celebrating at every turn. Our joy should be contagious. The people around us ought to wonder why there is peace in our lives even in the midst of great tumult. They should be inquiring as to the reason why our hearts sing for joy even when we struggle with life’s most challenging issues.
We need to stop for a moment and sing praises to our God. Nothing is more important in life that to praise His Holy Name and to thank Him for all that He has done for us. Lift up your head and hands in praise and thanksgiving to God for He is worthy of our praise.
Is your life a revival or a funeral? Do others hear God’s praise tough words are never spoken? Has the choir in heaven joined you in unending praise to our God? We need to choose a new path. Our lives need to be filled with praise and the peace of God that surpasses all human understanding. Life is short so seconds count. The next breath we take begins the rest of our lives. We can and must make a difference and the change begins from within before it is effect throughout. Lift praises to our God, because He is waiting to hear from you.
