"To God Be the Glory"

To God Be the Glory

Bible Verse:
“Because I called, but no one answered; I spoke, but they did not listen. And they did evil in My sight, And chose that in which I did not delight.” Is 66:4

My thought for today is the question for all ages, are we listening to the Words of God and obediently following what He has told us to do. Life is a response to what we see read and hear. No one who reads these words or hears these words is exempt from God’s call on their lives.

No excuses will be heard at the throne of God’s judgment. We will all one day meet Him face to face and I know we all want to hear, “Well done good and faithful servant, come now and enter into my rest.” Before this can happen we need to respond to God’s call on our lives.

Questions like have we fed the hunger, clothed the naked, visited the sick or imprisoned ring out for a response? Have we loved the Lord our God with all our heart, mind and strength and our neighbor as ourselves? Have we forgive those who have injured us mentally or physically? Have we given our time, talent and treasure to build up the Body of Christ?

These are Christ’s call in out lives. These are the Words of God, which will have the greatest impact as we stand before our King and respond to His call in our lives. We have just celebrated Thanksgiving holiday and prepare for the coming of the Christ child. During this time we ought to carefully examine at our lives and recognize how we have responded in the past. We need to remember the past has passed and it is the present and future that we can change.

Our responds to God’s call in our lives begins with our next breath. We can make a difference for time and eternity if we will surrender our lives into Christ’s care. Life is about choosing wisely. No one can choose for you. If you do nothing this is also a choice, which is equally wrong to living a self-centered life.

Where are you now with your walk with God? Are you obedient to His call in your life? Have you served Him while loving your neighbor as yourself? God has spoken to you and me to day. We have read and heard our hearts cry out for action. Let’s not forget, but rather respond as we serve our Risen Savior with every once of energy that we have.
