"Assessing the Way We Live"

Assessing the Way We Live

Bible Verse:
Woe is me! For I am like the fruit pickers and the grape gatherers. There is not a cluster of grapes to eat, or a first-ripe fig, which I crave. The godly person has perished from the land, and there is no upright person among men. All of them lie in wait for bloodshed; each of them hunts the other with a net. Mic 7:1-2

My thought for today is there anyone conscious of the grace and blessings of God and as a result reprioritized their lives for His glory, honor and praise. I was challenged this morning by Micah’s words wondering if the Body of Christ is still making a difference in the world.

It is so easy to blend in, to not live our faith, but rather through stealth actions praise, honor and glorify God. This is not the way He intended for us to live. Those who know Him, those who have placed their trust in Christ are to be different. Their lives are to reflect the love of God in everything we think say and do, but when you complete your self examination I am not sure we have been faithful to our call.

We tend to remain anger, restrain from unconditional forgiveness. We clearly do not want to surrender our lives to love our neighbor as ourselves. We have not consistently set aside time in prayer, praise and worship where God has our undivided attention. God stuff is fit in as long as it does not cost us much.

We fail to remember the price that Jesus pad so that we would have the opportunity to believe and be saved. We have been blessed in the heavenly realm, where Christ has gone to prepare a place for us and yet that often does not seem to be enough.

I am just as guilty as you are. My life at times is not focused on God. I have allowed the world to creep in and reestablish my priorities, to muddy the water between good and evil, to drive me to compliancy rather than action.

Today’s message is another wake up call. We need to assess the way in which we live. Are we glorifying God in every action, thought and word spoken? Have we surrender our will to Him and serve Him unconditionally? Will we make time for Him a priority and not keep giving Him the leftovers of life? We can change! We must change! Time is short. Now is a good time to reorder and stand up as true disciples of Jesus Christ. He is waiting for our decision, let’s not disappoint Him.
