Waiting Is Not Always Easy
Bible Verse: But as for me, I will watch expectantly for the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation. My God will hear me. Mic 7:7
My thought for today is the fact that we are impatient people, wanting the desires of our hearts right now, not later. Our impatience perhaps is one of the reasons we choose not to pray, as we should, because God seems at time to take a long time before He responds.
Micah explains that God hears each and every word we say. He witnesses every action and is not ignorant of every thought we have. When He does not answer it is not because He has not heard or does not care, but rather His time is not right for His will to be revealed.
When God does not answer our prayers in the way we have asked Him there is a good reason for this as well. God knows best what we need. We only know what we want and not necessarily what we need. When we trust in God as we lift up our thought to His throne room He will comfort us. In God’s plan there is peace.
We can trust in God if we will let go and let Him be Lord of our lives. Micah knew full well that he could wait patiently on God. We need to ask God for His enduring love to be look as Paul did for contentment in all circumstances.
Life is not easy. Christ told us that we would have tribulation in this world, but that we should take heart because He has overcome this world and has gone to prepare a place for us. We are not of this world, but rather children of heaven.
When we set our eyes heavenward the things of earth grow strangely dim in the light of God’s glory and grace. We can be patient. We must be in communion with God in order for us not to be drained by the cares of this world and give up call upon the One who can make life better.
Take a moment and call upon God. Lay your life’s desire at His feet. Accept His grace and the knowledge that He knows best for you. Do not allow the desires of this world to conqueror you, but rather call upon God and hold fast to his promises to give you the strength to endure.
Where are you in the spectrum of patience? Are you willing to wait on God? Is He your provision for life or do you still rely on what the world has to offer and continue to ask Him to fill up the world’s cup of desires. Let go and trust God for He is worthy of our faith and hope.
